Surrounded by mountains and situated on beautiful lakefront property, this family cottage, rich in character needed an update that brought both function and modernized style. Keeping the original house footprint, it was important to create better flow throughout the open concept space. Our team, including our Designer Tanya, were able to achieve this by removing posts running through the living room and kitchen and replacing with a large steel structural beam that tied in with existing exposed joists.
– Plank tiled floors throughout, lending to the functional aspect with its durability and brightening up the space with its light warm tones
– Thoughtfully designed new layout including 8-foot island clad with rustic white oak in custom stain, custom hood fan, cloudburst concrete countertops and range
– Top of the line appliances including Wolf range, microwave drawer, counter depth fridge
– Symmetrical ceiling hung lighting over the island was not possible with the unique roofline – sconce lights were strategically placed on either side of beam running through the middle of the kitchen adding task lighting to the prep area of the kitchen
– Custom built-ins with hidden storage were added in the dining room for a cohesive look with a stunning pendant as the focal statement in the space
– Making room for the television above the fireplace was important, in order to for a proper television height, a new custom mantle was installed at a lower height, new river rock needed to be tied in with existing, new custom cabinetry on either side of fireplace to tie in with kitchen.
– Main bath features new Grohe fixtures, shiplap throughout and a beautiful tiled custom shower with a pop of color
