Stonewall Homestead

Stonewall Homestead was the culmination of our clients’ dream to achieve multigenerational living on their farmstead, allowing their kids to move into the main home and allowing our clients to move into their dream coach home.

With strong roots in farming, the permit process involved lengthy processes with the Agricultural Land Reserve – culminating in a webinar for education for all CHBA BC members on home placement on ALR. We learned a lot about placement of homes on agricultural land to ensure the future farming value of the property – and there were months of back and forth as well as processing to just break ground.

Further restrictions from ALC on soil movement added complexity to the project as well as many more conversations with the staff at ALC.
This gorgeous, cozy, warm coach home includes:

  • HRV, mini-split wall head system with inverter drive outdoor unit, with electric baseboards & natural gas fireplace
  • On demand natural gas Navien hot water
  • The challenge was maximizing storage space in such a small footprint with a limited budget
  • Our client wanted depth and character in the kitchen and main living area, combining wood details with bold accents on cabinets.
  • Our clients downsized from over 6,000 square feet into the smaller coach home leading to a cozy and filled space
  • Exterior rock and timber work lead to a beautiful look on the farmland – glass railings allow for views of the expansive fields
  • Gorgeous eating bar with dramatic marble look finish in the kitchen
  • Custom hood fan with multiple tones of cabinetry add interest and draw the eye in the kitchen
  • Stairwell goes brickwork industrial chic with custom black metal railings
  • Angles and design throughout make this coach home a luxe Stonewall Homestead
