We were privileged to work with a Mission family by subdividing their property and building their individual family homes. A very challenging rezoning process led to multiple city meetings and coordinating the needs of the parents and two of their children’s families settling in the newly created subdivision.
Our clients fell in love with living a life with their young children close to nature in their Straight A’s A-Frame featuring:
- New well and septic system
- Heat pump and electric air handler
- Metal clad fascia as home is in fire interface area and to keep more stable in weather changes, requiring less maintenance
- Tongue and groove locally sourced wood ceilings
- Fire suppression system
- Engineered rock pit
- Extensive finishing work for skylight finishing interior and exterior to include shelving area
- Tricky insulation detail for A-Frame layout
- HVAC and plumbing/sprinkler runs were challenging and many conditioned chases were built in truss cavities in order to keep the integrity of the A-Frame design
- Black Pro-Lok metal roofing and Hardie board siding
- Wood stove
- Dramatic colour scheme
- Slab on grade polished floors
- Space utilized so no dead space areas – small storage closets on main floor
Our clients had a smaller budget and had one baby through construction, with another on the way as they moved into their new home. Working with our clients closely through their busy careers and family life – as well as a limited budget – was a testament to the skill of our Construction Manager – bringing in this A-Frame with Straight A grades!
